So I first met these guys at the longskate expo on governers island, after adrenalina. I had never really heard of them, but they seemed really chill. My relationship became much better with them when I won a brand new Apex 37 deck from their raffle after my board had broken.
Finn's is a company out of Orange County snowboards. They spread the stoke in middletown NY. The company is named after Chris Finnegan himself (awesome dude.) Finn's is starting to put together a ton of local downhill events and skates. They are currently putting together a massive slide jam and downhill event where their will be a ton of vendors and prizes and a big bbq after! and for the love of the sport this event will be free of course!
Check out their site and buy some tee's!!!! http://finnslongboard.blogspot.com/

Jeff Vyain "wiggler" and Cami "the beast" Best Win gold and the big fat check at Adrenalina
The Adrenalina world tour kicked off at governers island at around 7:06 am. The worlds greatest pushers came to in the marathon for a prize purse of 30 grand for placing at the podium. The race for the mens was neck and neck as Canada's Paul Kent and USA's Jeff Vyain pushed and tucked till the end.
I was managing a point of the race at the top of a hill and every time they came by they were far from some of the most elite pushers in NYC and across the country and world. As for the Women, Cami Best also known as "Beast" was ahead of previous winner Sarah Paulshock, and Priscilla Boullion, who took third.
(Women! Cami Best 1st place, middle, Sarah Paulshock 2nd place, left, Priscilla Boullion 3rd place, right.)
At the last lap, Jeff Vyain flew ahead of Paul Kent, and won the second anual Adrenalina skateboard marathon, shattering his record by 10 minutes.
(Jeff Vyain at the finish line)
EVERYONE SHOULD THANK ADRENALINA FOR HOSTING SUCH AN AWSOME EVENT, AND PUSH CULTURE FOR BROADCASTING IT LIVE!!!!

when you eat shit. someone always asks for a picture
Happy late easter everybody, yesterday the kings had there usual shred. From now on kings meet at the bandshell FYI. So on our way to union sq. I realize my shoe is untied and ignore it. i start to push, my shoelace goes under my wheel and I eat it, right on 34th street. imediatly i grab my board (a skaters first instinct) but my back was hurting! so i skated slowly to union sq, relaxed for a few minutes and skated. After a little bit, a guy came up to me and asked me if he could take a picture of my back. I thought it was just an interested pedestrian, indeed he was, but he was also a photographer who has been in the New York Times, and takes some unique pictures of the city. His website is called http://www.humansofnewyork.com/

Orangatang releases new 80a free rides
for all you shreders who are big fans of otang wheels, they have just released a new line of wheels that will be sure to deliver!
From Loaded: You asked, and we... farted. After much anticipation and gratuitous flatulence, Orangatang is now releasing our stone-ground freeride wheel lineup in that cush orange 80a urethane. For those that revel in the buttery, predictable drift of a soft wheel with lots of speed control, here's your chance to break lots of wind.

80a Stimulus, Fat Frees, and Durians will be available worldwide on Monday, April 4.
These wheel are a very smooth, soft, cushy, comfortable ride and will make a great cruising, carving, freestyle and commuting wheel with moderate slides. NOTE: If you are going to be going fast and busting slides at 25mph+, these wheels can wear quickly and it may be better to get the more durable 83a or the most durable 86a freeride wheels.

My Dad's Longboard
My dad has been skating for about .6 seconds, about the time it took him 2 fall on his ass and call it at that. Although my dad does not own a longboard, nor skate in anyway shape or form, I have just realized how much he thinks it is a beautiful thing like all skaters. At a dinner Wednesday night where a bunch of local skaters gathered around to talk about the NYC Longboarding Racing scene, we were all going around the table introducing our self's. I whispered into my dads ear saying "your passing" now obviously he has to comeback saying "well my son says im going to pass so im just going to follow his lead", everyone at the table stopped him and said "no no no, speak we want to hear your perspective". At the time this sounded like the worst idea ever, but im glad it happened. He continued to speak on how my Longboarding has effected him in a way he never thought it would. Because Longboarding makes me happy, it makes him happy, and while he was pissed that I went ahead and did the warriors race when I wasn't supposed to, somewhere deep down he was happy I did. He was happy because I loved it so much that I went ahead and did it. Even though im grounded for a month, I still Love him for what he said.
A day after, I get notification after notification on facebook on how my dad's "speech" was so moving and useful in the Longboarding community.
DAD YOU HAVE FANS WHO WOULDA THOUGHT!?!?!?
no just kidding, love you

A Warriors Experience
Sitting on Dallas' couch with bustin team rider David Steezy D accompanied by Annah Rowe, a hungover Sarah Paulshock, and baby Brooklyn, all i could think about was being at that finish line under the cyclone. This was the most exhausting thing I have ever done, but I don't regret it one bit. Adrenaline ran through my body the whole time. I started at Union sq, skating with the Lizzies, but eventually we go seperated, it was me, Steezy D, Sarah Paulshock, and another dude. From Union sq to prospect park was a great push, there is somthing about skating in NYC at night in traffic. Once we reached ocean pkwy, it started to get a little crazy. IT WENT ON FOREVER, I was imagining if i started from van cortland park, I would have cried the whole way. As I start to loose my group around avenue Z, I come across Wiggler, captain america, and some other dude. All that was on my mind was getting to the cyclone, and resting. FINALLY WE GET THERE, I cry of joy, one of my greatest accomplishments of my life, a half marathon. I am greeted by a stoked Theseus and Mike Dallas, the stoke is spread to me, but i keep crying, I don't know why, not pain, not because I was gonna get grounded when I got home, but I was around these people who changed my life. Yes I am still grounded for a month and can't skate over spring break, but this was soo worth it.
Big shout outs: Theseus! (Rat Rod), Mike Dallas, and David Steezy D!

Push Culture: We go Hard All year round
A couple of days ago I was coming home from school and there was a biker riding fast through traffic weaving in and out of traffic. Im not one for bikers, ever.. but this guy reminded me of summer days, when push culture was alive! we shredded hard through traffic and skated an easy 12 hours a day. So when I got home I made my facebook status "saw a biker speeding in traffic 2day weaving thru cars, im not one for bikers, but wehn summer comes, push culture les go" So I wait, and about 5 minutes later my friend Paulie Connor comments on my status " you gotta be shredding traffic year round eli. just watch for slush and bundle up" It occured to my lazy self that you can't wait till summer to skate all day, Push Culture goes all year around! if the rodes are skateable one bit,: o degrees or 100 degrees we skate.

Summer memories and Origins of skaters
My friend Rayshawn Hogan Reminisces of summer skating:
"So... you wanna skate?" those four words changed my life. i use to skate just to get around it was my way of say "F*ck you MTA". anyway back to the story, a couple of weeks ago i let this guy ride my board for like 8secs and he swore he was going to get a longboard( bull shit right?) well 2 weeks later he buys one and what do you know? its better than mine lol. it was from some company named "Bustin". i never heard of them but what did i know i was new to the whole longboard thing. turns out the dudes name was Andy. he seemed pretty cool but we never chilled... until that day. i was skating and he sees me and calls me over, we greet each other and looks at me say " So... you wanna skate?". its funny how i was skating before him and he know how to slide already? and he keeps talking about this "Bustin" place. i dont know thought ever snice i started skated with him we met some guys from a team. you might have heard of them "Earthwing" anyway they tell me that they dont like Bustin boards and their like pro from what im seeing so yea.... -__- so andy finally gets me to go with him to the shop, the first thing i remeber was this black dude with dreads from behind the counter. he gave me a great big cool aid smile and said "hey bro welcome to Bustin".... ok remember when i was like Bustin cant be that great? well they shocked the hell out of me solomon ended up being my role model so to speak. everyone knew him ( im so serious i know a guy in Texas who knows him) hes mad cool and chill and on top of that thru skating hes made me look at life way differently. then their Criglar and DK. their artist lol. Dk is more of the chill laid back kind but Criglar?!? my first mistake was challenging him to a game of skate which i lost with the frist trick. and who could forget Mike Dallas? That dude has a insane push and with monster calves. any i met some other younger skaters too like David... he was the first person i saw cross step and shovit (i had to get better than him) then their was camilo dude had a apex 37... it was spring then Chris... he always had his yellow helmet. then the two twins jessie and adam. (would alway mix them up.) then max... first dude (besides david) who made me feel like shit when it came to skating and who was around my age. that aside i spent the summer with them and it was amazing. you would think skating all day and putting together boards is boring right? well you should be slap cause your wrong. from having a slide sessh at "The RIP" with earthwing or just chillen and skating in the city with the Bustin crew i had a amazing and time and 2011 summer is coming .... So... you wanna skate?oh and i didnt for get you Jeff, i just rather not talk about how u beat me in the race across the willy B

Soccer Players, Natural Skaters?
I came across this video the other day about Adidas team rider Dennis Busenitz
As I saw how soccer was dennis' inspiration, an idea went through my head, 'are soccer players natural skaters?' Ryan Daughtridge the founder of Bustin played soccer, I play soccer and the feel of skating comes naturally, and Dennis Busenitz's shoe is completely inspired by soccer.
